The Summer Shorts are your next wardrobe staple. This is a pattern you’ll love, time and time again. The shorts feature a fused waistband detail, slash pockets at the side seam and an invisible zipper at the center back. This pattern is great for advanced beginners as it provides the challenge of inserting a zipper. Of course, there is also a YouTube video tutorial to help you out every step along the way. Have fun sewing!
This is a digital PDF pattern contains a 17 page instruction book that can be downloaded immediately after purchase. The pattern can be printed on either A4 or US Letter paper. Instruction on printing are contained inside. Print at 100% scaling. This pattern has a scale test to ensure you have printed your pattern correctly. No physical item will be sent. This pattern is written in English and contains measurements in both metric (centimetres) and imperial (inches).

DIFFICULTY

This pattern is perfect for anyone who is up for the challenge of inserting an invisible zipper. There is also hand sewing required for this style, however you can choose to use the sewing machine for all steps if you would prefer. There is a YouTube video tutorial available at this link:https://youtu.be/ifEPAD3oKm8 This will help you out with every step along the way. The whole garment can be made from start to finish in around 4-5 hours. Always remember to take your time and make a mock up in a cheaper fabric before you begin on the final project. This will allow you to make any alterations before you begin ensuring perfect fit.
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
- Sizes 6-10
1M (1.1 YARDS) MAIN FABRIC 120CM (1.3YARDS) WIDE.
- Sizes 12-22
1.5M (1.7 YARDS) MAIN FABRIC 120CM (1.3YARDS) WIDE.
Woven, low/non stretch fabrics are suitable for this style. Select a medium weight fabric to increase the amount of support in the bodice.
- 50CM (0.55 YARDS) MEDIUM WEIGHT FUSIBLE INTERFACING
OTHER TOOLS REQUIRED
- 25cm (10”) invisible zipper to match the colour of your main fabric
- Matching sewing thread
- Hand sewing needle (optional)
- Scissors
- Pins
- Sewing machine
- Overlocker/Serger (optional if your sewing machine has zig zag capabilities)
- Printer and A4 paper/US Letter paper to print your pattern
